Our Story
More than three decades ago, everything began with a simple question:
What really is the Volkswagen Golf Limited?
At the time, very little reliable information was publicly available. Many cars had disappeared, ownership histories were incomplete and original factory documentation was scattered across private collections, archives and forgotten boxes.
What began with collecting brochures, photographs and technical documents gradually evolved into an international research project. Over the years I have had the privilege of meeting owners, former owners, collectors and enthusiasts from around the world. Every conversation added another piece to the puzzle.
Today, VW-Racing.org has grown into one of the most comprehensive independent archives dedicated exclusively to the Volkswagen Golf Limited.
Our Philosophy
Every Golf Limited tells its own story.
Some have remained with the same owner for decades. Others travelled across several countries, disappeared for years before resurfacing, or underwent extensive restorations. Every car deserves to have its history preserved as accurately as possible.
Research never truly ends. Previously unknown photographs are discovered, forgotten documents reappear and new information continues to emerge. Historical research demands patience, transparency and a willingness to revise earlier conclusions whenever new evidence is found.
Accuracy, honesty and respect for historical facts will always remain the foundation of this archive.

What began as a personal journey has become something much bigger.
Today, VW-Racing.org is a shared passion between my son Matteo and me.
While I continue researching and documenting the history of the Golf Limited, Matteo brings his enthusiasm for restoration and technical craftsmanship, helping preserve these remarkable cars for future generations.
Together, we share one simple mission:
